Raymond Blanc seeks would be restaurateurs for TV series

Top chef returns to BBC 2 on the hunt for a couple to help him open an eaterie

The renowned French chef has put the call out for applicants to be part of his The Apprentice style show The Restaurant

Like many a home cook out there, chances are you've dreamt about opening your very own restaurant. So if you're permanently planning what you'd put on your menu, how you'd decorate your eaterie or the perfect way to serve your guests, Raymond Blanc wants to hear from you.

In the third instalment of his BBC2 series The Restaurant, the top French chef is giving a pair of upcoming culinary stars the opportunity of a lifetime - to open a restaurant with him. As in previous series, catering experience isn't necessary – he only demands a burning passion for food, service and the food industry. Friends, partners, siblings - the competition is open to all combinations of pairs.

During the series, which airs later this year, nine sets of couples will battle it out to win the competition. They most complete tasks, which in past years have included designing a cook book, catering for a romantic train journey and starting a takeaway service to provide they have the vision, creativity and talent to create the perfect restaurant.
