20 MAY 2009

A celebration of home grown vintages, English Wine Week runs from May 23 to May 31, during which time vineyards across the country will be opening their doors to welcome visitors and offer a variety of activities, including tours, tastings and sales or hosting special events.

“We want to show everyone that English wines are much more available than they might presume," explains English Wine Producers' Julia Trustram Eve. "There are some great activities taking place this year which provide the wine enthusiast every opportunity to get to know their local wines better.”

Welsh and Devon wine weeks also highlight specific regional activities. Details of events and participating outlets can be found at www.englishwineweek.co.uk. The website is being constantly updated with news items relevant to the week.
