Ever wondered how they get perfect slices of iced chocolate cakes in restaurants?
The secret is a hot, sharp knife. Choose your best one with a long blade and get it really hot by dipping it into a pot of boiling water and leaving it there for a 10 seconds or so.
Take it out and slice the cake once – and that’s the important part. Clean the knife and re-warm it between each cut and you will end up with perfectly presentable pieces of cake – ready to be served with a dollop of whipped cream.
