Perform magic tricks in the kitchen with Gizzi Erskine

In her new book, Gizzi’s Kitchen Magic, Gizzi has broken down the boundaries between food and cool and packed the volume with plenty of delicious, interesting and innovative recipes.

That's not to say her cooking is completely off the wall; indeed, plenty of the recipes are traditional, or twists on classics, as one would expect from someone who studied at top Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London.

For example infusing chocolate fudge cake with tea and making sticky banoffee pudding - a version of sticky toffee pudding with banana replacing the dates.

Alongside the range of varied recipes, there are lessons in mastering basic pasta, foolproof pasta and the nemesis of all chefs - poaching perfect eggs.

Gizzi performs that most magical of tricks in the kitchen, making food simple and approachable while still striking, mouth-watering and moreish.
