Let off some steam with the Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker

13 APRIL 2010

Kuhn Rikon have designed a rather handsome pressure cooker that can cut cooking times by up to 60 per cent. Thus making stews a quick supper, cooking potatoes in minutes and for the serious home-cook, brewing stock in 20 minutes for comforting soups or spicy Asian version for those hot, summer nights.

Pressure cooking is a healthy and easy way to cook; it preserves vitamins, colours, aroma and minerals. The Kuhn’s cone-shaped lid also creates less surface area for steam to flow over, allowing it to cool more quickly. The pan also has a spring-loaded safety valve – no more worrying about using a pressure cooker. The lid also automatically locks in place.

It’s a solidly built and handsome piece of kit – and an ideal purchase for those short on time or who like slow cooking but don’t like sitting around!

One of the most useful facets of the cooker is the fact you don’t have to mess around weighing out ingredients and measuring quantities of liquid – you just need to make sure the liquid level is between the minimum and maximum lines and away you go.

Kuhn Rikon Pressure Cooker, RRP £88.99 available from Lakeland.co.uk
