Missed out on Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino? Fear not, another magical drink is now available at the coffee chain, and you can get your hands on this one in the UK – assuming you have a willing barista. The Mermaid Frappuccino is the creation of one skilled Starbucks barista and blogger, The Modern Barista, and is quickly proving to be just as popular as its colourful predecessor.

STORY: All the details on Starbucks' Unicorn Frappuccino

Although it is not yet officially on the menu, you can get this unique looking pink and green iced drink if you place a very specific order with your barista; ask for a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with three scoops of blackberry inclusions. For the topping, ask for a drizzle made with eight pumps of white mocha, three pumps of toasted coconut, and three scoops of matcha powder.

Admittedly this is a pretty time-consuming – and calorific – drink to order, but worth it if you missed out on the Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino craze in April. The limited edition drink was such a success when it was released in the US, Canada and Mexico that Starbucks has now promised to continue launching quirky drinks over the next few months.

"Just stay tuned because we have a lot more coming," Starbucks' former CEO Howard Schultz said on Thursday. The Unicorn Frappuccino proved such a success that it drove significant traffic to the coffee chain, with over 161,000 Instagram posts dedicated to the pink and blue iced drink. However many fans were left disappointed that it wasn't made available further afield in the UK and Europe during its three-day run. Hopefully the chain will meet global demand when it launches its latest creations, which CEO Kevin Johnson has said will be "as good as Unicorn or better".
