Blackberry, blue cheese and walnut scones

Makes 8


175g self-raising flour
55g oat bran
1 tsp baking powder
55g soft margarine
25g soft brown sugar
7 tbsp buttermilk
110g blackberries
50g blue cheese, crumbled
50g walnuts, roughly chopped


1. Heat the oven to 220C/gas mark 7. Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix to a soft dough. Lightly knead and roll out to 1.25cm/1/2″ thickness, cut out 6.25cm/2″ rounds.

2. Serve with butter and a slice of blue cheese.
