Donatella Versace has turned to the princess of pop to market her latest range of luxury clothes. In a collaboration that's sure to be the ultimate platinum partnership, Christina Aguilera has agreed to become the new face of Versace.

Details of the ad campaign are yet to be finalised, but Donatella says her new range was largely inspired by Christina's risqué performances. "I watch the videos of Christina and I always die," said the platinum-haired designer. "She is a great dancer, a great singer, her voice is amazing. I always hoped I could do something with her but I wanted to be friends first. That is the most important thing for me."

The singer seems to be equally thrilled about their plans, saying: "There are so many things I love about Donatella and I would wear everything she's got. It's so exciting."

The fact that Christina has won several "worst dressed" awards seems to be no obstacle, as the 22-year-old insists it just goes to show she has her own unique sense of style. Whatever her critics may think of the blonde vocalist's image, something seems to be working. After all, she has sold over ten million albums.
