Bling was the order of the day at Paris haute couture week on Tuesday, as Giorgio Armani debuted a sparkling – literally – 50 piece collection in the French capital.

As stars including Megan Fox and Cate Blanchett looked on, the Italian fashion maestro sent models down the runway in standout cocktail gowns and sharply-tailored trouser suits dripping in sequins and crystals.

This was juxtaposed with a wild, jungle theme present in cheetah-print cocktail-suits, lavished with beading; and one standout gown - a glitering black and electric blue tiger stripe print dress with a plunging neckline.

Another highlight of the range was a snake-like strapless number, entrusted with beads and split to the thigh. Zips were another key feature of the line, used as decoration, entwining waists, necks, torsos and hips, or again, embelished with beads and sequins.
