Milan Fashion Week goes XL with accessories for Autumn/Winter 2013

Yes, it's finally goodbye to minimalism as we take a look back at Milan Fashion Week's most recent collection of show stopping accessories for Autumn/Winter 2013.

From the typical statement necklaces to exquisitely jewelled earrings the size of your hands, there's nothing subtle about the way in which we'll be finishing off our outfits with next season's style must-haves.

So cover up in swathes of faux fur and sport those oversized sunglasses and hat combos as we give you Milan's extra large selection of awe-inspiring accessories…

Animal print bags: Think crocodile, snake, and psychedelic zebra patterns. Big or small, this season it's all about the print as seen on the bags of Bottega Veneta, Philipp Plein and Fendi

City style staples: However, for those of you who are more fond of a classic cut tote with discreet finish, here are a selection of designs by Aigner, Sportmax and Max Mara which are the perfect office style update

Think fur: A combination of sleek leather straps and luxurious faux fur panels make these bags the ultimate Winter accessory. From left to right, Sportmax design , Simonetta Ravizza and Gabriele Colangelo

Well sheltered:  Faux fur also featured itself amongst the jackets, gilets and oversized hats of the upcoming season. This is efficient winter styling at its best as seen on the runways of Blugirl and Maurizio Pecoraro

At your feet: Innovative footwear goes hand in hand with Italian design. And, this year Philipp Plein (left) and Ferragamo, to the right, didn't dissapoint with their collections of high-heeled boots, platforms and chic kitten heels

The finishing clutch: The perfect evening accessory, all of the clutches at the runways of Milan featured details such as tassels or a patent shine to complement the outfits on the runways of Sportmax, Aigner and Bottega Veneta

Statement necklaces: This dragon-shaped design by Blugirl is an exquisite shape that will no doubt be replicated amongst high street designers as is this huge metallic pink number by Roberto Cavalli and padlock design by Versace

Oversized sunglasses: Even in the colder months it never hurts to have a good pair of large sunglasses and here are two face-framing shapes by Max Mara and Krizia ideal from shielding you in the winter sun

Do not miss: Next to necklaces, earrings are the other essential item of jewellery that you won't be able to miss next season. From left to right, Francesco Scognamiglio, Roccobarocco and Alberta Ferretti's looks featured embossed ear cuffs and large drop designs to add drama to more subtle outfits
