While the award's season 'calendar highlight' is indubitably the Oscars, the BAFTAs certainly holds its own. The first ever BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards were held on the 29 May 1949, at the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square for films shown in the United Kingdom in 1947 and 1948. Since then the London-based event has delivered year after year of stunning style moments, from the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor and Cher. 

In celebration of the uniquely British event we share the most memorable, and more importantly glamorous, BAFTA looks of all time…
