Cheryl Cole shed her good girl image in favour of a femme fatale look for a swish party in Cannes on Tuesday. The singer, who is set to make her long-awaited return to the X Factor judging panel, embraced her gothic side in a dramatic black gown with a feathered train and bondage-style detailing on the waist. Cheryl vamped up the look further by accessorising the dangerously low-cut creation with a black, sparkling choker necklace.

She complemented the dark look with blood red lips and smokey eyes with heavy eyeliner and fluttery false eyelashes. Cheryl has been mingling with famous movie stars in Cannes. The songstress, who had a small part in 2012 blockbuster What To Expect When You're Expecting alongside Cameron Diaz, has also reportedly had appointments with film studio chiefs during her time on the French Riviera. "Cheryl is meeting with studio bosses in Cannes," a source told The Sun newspaper. "The festival is the perfect place to meet properly and talk about some of the offers on the table.

The singer wore this stunning ballgown to attend premieres the previous evening "She's considering a career on the big screen, of course, but only if the part is right. She wouldn’t go into anything lightly and would make sure she was fully trained and prepped for the job. "The problem is now that she has another record ready for release and is back on The X Factor as a judge, any film work would have to be after that." The previous evening, Cheryl had turned heads as she arrived for the premiere of Foxcatcher and Maps to the stars. Wearing a beautiful black ballgown with a strapless bodice and a full skirt, the singer rubbed shoulders with Jessica Chastain and Julianne Moore on the red carpet.
