Romantic touches will be setting the stage when two of Europe's crown princes tie the knot in May.
The first couple to walk down the aisle will be Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Australian marketing executive Mary Donaldson, on May 14. One week later, Crown Prince Felipe of Spain will marry former TV newsreader Letizia Ortiz.
It's likely that both will choose gowns created locally, but while the world awaits the unveiling of the dresses, those looking for royal inspiration can take a look back on 2003's princess brides. When she wed Prince Philippe of Belgium, British-born Claire Coombs wore a silk and lace off-the-shoulder gown by Belgian designer Edouard Vermeulen, who created sister-in-law Crown Princess Mathilde's wedding dress. And Prince Emmanuel Filiberto of Savoy married French actress Clotilde Courau with the bride clad in gorgeous Valentino, an 18-foot tulle veil and jewelled tiara completing the fairytale look.
