Halle Berry seems to have taken a shine to a British TV presenter who interviewed her for Britain's Channel 4. The Oscar-winning actress agreed to go out for dinner with Steve Jones, who quizzed her for the youth show T4.

After they filmed the programme, Steve asked the 37-year-old for her phone number. The Monster's Ball star agreed to reveal the sought-after digits, and also took a note of his.

It was far from a cheap date, however, as the Welshman's flight to LA, in order to have dinner with the actress, cost £1,000. The 26-year-old also had to spend a total of 20 hours in the air, leaving him more than a little jet-lagged when he eventually got home.

"I am not going to say much about it – a gentleman never tells," he said afterwards. "But she is a lovely lady and very beautiful."

When asked about Halle's recent split from husband Eric Benet, the handsome presenter declined to comment. "Miss Berry is going through a hard time and I don't want to add to it," he said.
