Two of Britain's hottest actors are about to make their presenting debuts on American TV. Jude Law and Kate Winslet will both take centre stage as hosts on the long-running comedy show Saturday Night Live.
Jude will be joining forces with chart-topper Ashlee Simpson for this weekend's episode. The Cold Mountain star is riding the crest of a wave right now, as he has no less than six movies arriving in cinemas in the weeks ahead. And he's already had some practise at addressing the camera, having talked directly to the audience throughout Alfie.
Kate is also the toast of Tinseltown at the moment, thanks to her collaboration with Johnny Depp in Finding Neverland. The mum-of-two teams up with controversial rapper Eminem to present next week's programme.
Being a guest host on Saturday Night Live is something of a rite of passage for big names across the pond. Since the sketch show began 30 years ago, it has been presented by everyone from Raquel Welch and Jim Carrey to Samuel L Jackson and Madonna. It has also launched the careers of a dozens of top comedians, including Bill Murray, Ben Stiller and Mike Myers. |
