She may have piled on the pounds again for her latest Bridget Jones outing, but newly brunette actress Renee Zellweger was leaving no doubt that she's returned to her former sylph-like self when she attended the movie's Down Under premiere.
Taking to the red carpet in Sydney for a screening of Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason, the Oscar-winning actress was stunning - and very slender - in a long black gown with delicate lace sleeves. She was accompanied on the night by her parents and brother.
When asked in Melbourne about her weight fluctuations, Renee was keen to play down the importance of her new shape. "I'm usually asked, 'How did you lose that weight?'," she explained, "and I don't like the implication that comes with that question. That it was a good thing to lose the weight saddens me."
The trip to Oz has been somewhat of a homecoming for the Zellwegers as father Emil lived in New South Wales during the Sixties. And Renee has managed to take time out from her busy schedule to accompany him on visits to friends and relatives.
Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason opens in the UK on November 12. |
