London's West End was abuzz on Wednesday when royalty and a roll call of celebs converged on the Apollo Theatre for the opening of the Patrick Stewart vehicle A Life In Theatre.
Among the exclusive guests on hand were Princess Victoria of Sweden, pop singer Darius Danesh, Lady Victoria Hervey and Lisa B.
Heading up the cast is Star Trek - The Next Generation's Captain Picard, Patrick Stewart, who has won rave reviews for his portrayal of an ageing thespian who acts as a mentor to a younger actor. Patrick marks his return to the West End stage following his 2003 success in Henrik Ibsen's The Master Builder.
Directed by Lindsay Posner, A Life In Theatre is his highly anticipated follow-up to the London production of another David Mamet work, Sexual Perversity in Chicago.
