Halle Berry could hardly be accused of cattiness after she showed up in person to collect a Razzie Award. The actress proved just what a good sport she can be when she was named worst actress of 2004 for her much maligned performance in Catwoman.

The 38-year-old poked fun at herself by parodying her emotional acceptance speech at the 2002 Oscars, when she famously broke down in tears upon being named winner for Monster's Ball. Clutching her Oscar in one hand and her Razzie in the other, the actress sobbed and whimpered as she accepted her latest trophy. "Oh my gosh, I never in my life though that I would be here winning a Razzie," she gushed. "It's not like I ever aspired to be here, but thank you."

The Razzies, now in their 25th year, are an irreverent alternative to the Academy Awards where the worst movies of the previous year are given a light-hearted pasting. And it would seem that Catwoman was the finest fiasco of 2004, because it also took the trophies for worst film, worst screenplay and worst director.

Halle wasn't the only the only one being ridiculed, though: George Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Britney Spears likewise found themselves in the firing line. The president was named worst actor, thanks to his appearance in the documentary Fahrenheit 9/11, while his Defence Secretary and America's favourite chart-topper took the worst supporting actor gongs thanks to their "roles" in the same flick.
