With temperatures sizzling on both sides of the pond Hollywood beauties Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman were both keeping cool with new cropped hairstyles this week.

Attending a German screening of her new film Pride And Prejudice in Hamburg, British-born actress Keira was premiering a shorter, more feathered 'do. The 20-year-old Pirates Of The Caribbean star complemented her sophisticated new look with a glamorous, low-necked little black dress.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic Oscar-nominated actress Natalie Portman was sporting a new twist to her own even shorter style on the streets of the Big Apple. The 23-year-old originally shaved her head for her role as a freedom fighter in the comic-book adaptation V For Vendetta. But she has obviously taken to her low-maintenance crop, as, while it seems to have grown somewhat on top, the sides were definitely showing signs of a fresh trim.
