The Hollywood heavyweight swapped his usual serious visage for a broad grin as he walked the red carpet with a glamorous Danielle at the premiere of his film, Cinderella Man. And the father-of-one was positively beaming as he graciously signed autographs for throngs of fans.

Arrested in June for allegedly hurling a telephone at a New York hotel employee, Russell keeps fans guessing with his gruff public persona tempered with his family man image and sensitive film choices.

He's confessed he doesn't know how he ever lived without "40 or 50 cuddles a day" from his wife and son, and said of his movie career: "If I can touch your heart, and just for a second you forget about the other things that are going on in your life, then I've done my job."
