Renee Zellweger has split from husband Kenny Chesney after just four months of marriage. The Bridget Jones star exchanged vows with country singer Kenny at an intimate ceremony in the Caribbean following a whirlwind romance.

Court papers filed on Thursday confirmed the 36-year-old Cold Mountain actress was seeking an annulment of the union. In reasons as to why the annulment was being requested, she ticked the box marked "fraud". No further information was given. Under US law an annulment is a ruling that a marriage was invalid from the start because of misrepresentation by one of the spouses.
On a recent trip to Europe last week, the star appeared reflective as she attended premieres of her film Cinderella Man alone. Asked about her husband, Renee would only say that he was working. The singer, who is one of the most famous names on the US country scene, embarked upon a tour of the States shortly after the nuptials.
His hits include Me and You and She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy. Another of the star's popular songs is You Had Me From Hello, a reference to a famous line from Renee's 1996 movie Jerry Maguire. The first hints of their romance came in April when Renee went on stage during one of his concerts to serve him a margarita.
Almost immediately, however, there was speculation the relationship was in trouble, and a Texan TV personality predicted the marriage would be short-lived. At the time the actress hit out at the remarks, fuming: "To come home from getting married and have that guy setting the betting table in Vegas at three months or four months or whatever it was..."
