With his fiancée Katie Holmes almost due to give birth to their first child, Tom Cruise was in ebullient mood when he attended a California event hosted by internet giant Yahoo this week.

As guest of honour at the company's Influential Speakers day, the good-natured Mission: Impossible star happily leapt up onto a chair to re-enact that headline-hitting sofa-hopping scene from Oprah Winfrey's show back in May.

The 43-year-old appears to have lost none of his elation since that demonstration, when he jumped up and down on the sofa proclaiming his love and surprising even chat show queen Oprah with his emotional display. The following month, he proposed to Katie atop the Eiffel Tower.

And as if his repeat performance at the Yahoo bash weren't demonstration enough of his excitement over imminent fatherhood with the 27-year-old Dawson's Creek actress, Tom then brought Katie herself onto the platform and enthusiastically patted her bump in front of the cameras.
