BRAD'S ACTION-PACKED DAY WITH MADDOX AS GWEN AND GAVIN VISIT

4 JULY 2006

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been making the most of being back on home territory with an invitation to family friends Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale to pop over for Sunday afternoon. Over the US holiday weekend the guys, who included four-year-old Maddox, had fun racing about on quad bikes at the acting superstars' Santa Barbara estate.

The Troy star looked quite the action man, showing his and Angelina's adopted son how to handle his bike by the water's edge.

Gavin and his wife have been friendly with Brad in the past and are re-igniting their friendship with the births of their children. While the boys played with their toys, new mums Gwen and Angelina must have had plenty to natter about as they tended to their little ones, apparently sporting matching baby slings.

Six weeks ago in Los Angles the Hollaback Girl welcomed her son Kingston by caesarean section. An operation that Angelina also had exactly one day later, on the other side of the world in Namibia, to give birth to her daughter Shiloh Nouvel.

Making up the family group was Angelina's toddler Zahara, who happily played in the shade of a tree, wearing a bright yellow outfit, as her mum kept a watchful eye nearby.
