New parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are planning to tie the knot in "early autumn", their representative has confirmed. Friends close to the pair have even speculated the big day will happen in the next three to six weeks.

The upcoming nuptials will be the latest landmark event in the couple's whirlwind romance. And like any soon-to-be newlyweds, the Hollywood duo are filled with anticipation. "They can't wait," says their spokesman Arnold Robinson. "The wedding is still in the planning stages. They're really excited about it. They have always said they will be married by early autumn and they are still in that window."

Katie's friend Andrea Bernholtz, head of Rock and Republic fashion label, added "The wedding is soon. They will surprise us all." The Batman Begins actress and her fiancé will no doubt want their beloved daughter Suri, who was born in April, to be there for the celebrations, as well as Tom's adopted children Bella and Conor from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.
