If you've got it flaunt it goes the saying, words of wisdom that Sharon Stone followed this week as she made the most of her fabulous pins in a super short mini dress.

Mum-of-three Sharon was one of several Hollywood heavyweights using their star power to help launch 'Mandela Day' at a benefit in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

Morgan Freeman, Forest and Keisha Whitaker, Clint Eastwood and Oscar-nominee Marisa Tomei were also lending their support to an initiative proposed by the Nelson Mandela Foundation and 46664 charity to turn July 18 – Mr Mandela's birthday – into an annual celebration of the great statesman's life.

For Oscar-winners Morgan and Clint, the benefit offered another way to pay homage to the former South African leader. The duo's new collaboration, The Human Factor, stars Morgan as the anti-apartheid activist under the Dirty Harry star's direction.

It follows Nelson Mandela's release from prison, his election as South Africa's president and his attempts to use the 1995 Rugby world cup to unite his people. Matt Damon stars as team captain Francois Pienaar, who led the squad to victory.
