Friends and relatives will gather to say a final farewell to Patrick Swayze on Sunday.

A private memorial service for the star who danced his way into a million hearts will be held at Sony Studios in Culver City, California. The family of the Dirty Dancing actor has asked well-wishers to donate to two charities - The Patrick Swayze Pancreas Cancer Research Fund or Stand Up to Cancer - rather than send flowers.

One of his final public appearances in the year before his death on September 14 was at a benefit for Stand Up to Cancer. The Hollywood talent, then battling for his life against pancreatic cancer, earned an ovation from fellow stars including Jennifer Aniston when he made a surprise appearance at the event. He told guests: "There was no way I was going to say no to this. " It's not known who will join his beloved wife Lisa Niemi, who was with him through 34 years of marriage, at the service. But Whoopi Goldberg, Demi Moore, Rob Lowe and his Dirty Dancing co-star Jennifer Grey paid tribute to Patrick when he passed away and will, no doubt, be eager to pay their respects.
