Judging by the look on Demi Moore's face - and her comments on Twitter - it was an experience that made a deep impact on the Hollywood actress.
The brunette beauty looked in her element as she helped feed some four-year-old orphan elephants in Kenya.
"All I can say is WOW! These orphan elephants are amazing," tweeted the 46-year-old afterwards.
Demi and her husband Ashton Kutcher got up close to the African wildlife during a trip to the Samburu National Reserve.
Situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River in the dry northern reaches of Kenya, it is home to numerous species of wildlife - including giraffes, buffalos, zebras, lions, leopards and cheetahs.
During their time in Africa, 31-year-old What Happens in Vegas star Ashton also got to experience the day-to-day life of the local people.
"Spent the day digging a well and watering goats with the warriors and bead girls of the Samburu. Humbling experience," he tweeted.
