Happy birthday Angelina Jolie! Find out what's in the stars for you and Angelina today...

04 JUNE 2014 Happy birthday, Angelina Jolie! As the Academy Award-winning actress turns 39, we take a look at what the stars have in store for Angelina, and you...

'I know an old woman who swallowed a fly...' So goes the old song. There's nothing so remarkable about swallowing a fly. What marks this woman out for special attention is the spider, the bird, the cat, the dog, and the horse that she then progressed to. It's a children's classic because it contains a wonderful moral. When you are in a hole, stop digging! Don't try to solve one problem by creating another. I mention this to you today because? Well, I think you know why. And I also think you know what you really need to do.

Read your horoscope for today.

An actress, director, author, Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and screenwriter, Angelina Jolie has won one Oscar, two SAG awards, and three Golden Globes - and the recent news of Angelina's possible retirement sent shock waves around the entertainment world.

Angelina made her screen debut alongside her father Jon Voight in 1983 but it was in 1995 when she took on her first leading role in Hackers, alongside Jonny Lee Miller. In 1998 she won her first Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for television drama Gia, before starring in the 1999 adaptation of Girl, Interrupted and garnering her first, and so far only, Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

The stunning award winner gained mainstream success in 2001 as the titular character in the video game adaptation of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and continued her role as an action star in Mr and Mrs. Smith, Wanted, and The Tourist.

The 39-year-old has also tried her hand at directing, first in the 2007 documentary A Place In Time, and in the 2011 drama In The Land of Blood and Honey, for which Angelina also produced and wrote the screenplay. Angelina's third feature film Unbroken is set for release in December 2014 and was scripted by the Coen Brothers and stars Jack O'Connell and Garrett Hedlund.

The brunette beauty is a regular on entertainment and celebrity news magazines and websites thanks to her relationship with Hollywood actor Brad Pitt. The pair met on the set of Mr and Mrs. Smith and rumours abounded for months that their closeness was the reason for Brad's 2005 divorce from Jennifer Aniston.

Angelina and Brad have been engaged for two years, and have six children together - Pax, Zahara, and Maddox who are adopted, and Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.

In the early 2000s, Angelina became a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR following her time spent in Cambodia filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and went on field missions around the world and met with refugees in more than 30 countries. In 2012, the humanitarian was promoted to the rank of Special Envoy, and in her expanded role, she represents UNHCR at the diplomatic level to facilitate lasting solutions for people displaced by major crises.
