It's the new dating series set to hit our TV screens this weekend, and Holly Willoughby has certainly pulled out all the stops to snare viewers. Proving her show is a total success, the bubbly presenter took it upon herself to give one contestant quite the unsuspected surprise - by waxing his leg in front of a live audience.

In a funny clip from an upcoming episode, the 35-year-old gives hopeful Paddy - in his quest to find love - a small shock after his mother revealed he has the "hairiest legs".

The show will see a contestant's parents meet their potential suitor with the aim to impress them with stories about their child before the picker finally chooses which one they would like to date.

While the parents are being quizzed, the guys and girls hoping to be picked see and hear everything but have no control over what their parents are revealing.

Although, if they think their parents are about to go a step too far, they can make just one urgent phone call to speak to them.

Holly recently discussed the new dating show, saying: "We all know how embarrassing parents can be and nobody knows you better than they do. I can't wait to hear what humiliating secrets they'll be revealing and see who will regret leaving their love life in the hands of their parents."

Speaking about dating in today's day and age, the mother-of-three - who is married to TV producer Dan Baldwin - revealed she wasn't a fan of popular dating apps, such as Tinder and Bumble.

"Dating is so shallow these days. Everyone is just swiping away. But if Tinder was available when I was dating, I probably would have used it," she told The Sun, before adding: "I actually feel sorry for people dating now. Their level of contentment is much lower. Being content is really lovely but it seems nowadays people don't want to commit to anybody."

Meet The Parents starts this Saturday at 7pm on ITV
