Broadcaster Danny Baker is one of the stars who has reportedly signed up for the next series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. The 59-year-old is set to be the most expensive signing so far - netting him a mammoth a six-figure sum, according to a new report.

The Sun claims the British radio DJ - who recently revealed he had beaten his six-year cancer battle – doesn't actually need the money but the offer from ITV was "far too tempting".

"Danny has become this year's highest-paid celebrity in the jungle so far with a six-figure sum," a source revealed. "He's a real broadcasting legend, so show bosses were desperate to sign him. Danny doesn't need the cash, but producers made him an offer he just couldn't refuse. He's a real curveball name, and they’re the sort ITV want."

Earlier this month, Danny took to Twitter to announce he had beaten cancer. "Six years ago I was diagnosed with big time, proper full-on cancer. Of the head and neck! But I'm all clear now," he tweeted.

Danny - who has presented shows on BBC London, 5Live, Radio 1 and Radio 2 - announced his illness in November 2010, shortly before undergoing chemotherapy. At the time, he said: "Once the quacks have soundly thrashed this thing I shall return like a rare gas and as if out of a trap."

Danny, also well-known as a scriptwriter for his friend Chris Evans, came to prominence as a writer for the music paper New Musical Express in the 1970s after cutting his teeth on the punk fanzine Sniffin' Glue. He later became a roving reporter for London ITV magazine programme The Six O'clock Show and presented shows such as Win, Lose Or Draw and Pets Win Prizes.

ITV have also released a teaser trailer, which sees the return of popular TV duo Ant and Dec. In the short clip, viewers can see Dec panic when he gets separated from Ant in a dark forest.
