Jamie Dornan is hot property in Hollywood right now. So it comes as no surprise to hear reports that Guy Ritchie wants the Fifty Shades of Grey star to take the lead role in his new King Arthur film franchise.

According to the Sun, Guy was “completely blown away” when he met Jamie and “wanted to offer him the part immediately”.

Guy is now said to be desperate to sign the 32-year-old up to play the legendary king in a forthcoming set of blockbuster – but it will mean some serious negotiations because of Jamie’s commitment to the Fifty Shades series.

“Jamie is keen on the role too, and his US agents are keen to work out a deal where he’ll be able to do both franchises,” the insider added.“They have to convince Universal to allow Jamie to make the film with Warner Brothers, which isn’t looking promising.”

Jamie is said to be especially eager to land the role to avoid being typecast as Christian Grey.

“Jamie is keen to take on other roles and prove that he’s an adaptable actor,” the source added. “He fears the huge Fifty Shades franchise will be all he’s associated with.”

Guy has taken some time out of directing recently to spend time with his family – his partner Jacqui Ainsley welcomed their third child this year.

Next year he will unveil his reboot of The Man From U.N.C.L.E, starring Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill, followed by his new movie King Arthur, which has been scheduled for release in July 2016.
