Passers-by could be forgiven for not recognising Richard Gere as he shot scenes for his latest movie in Central Park this week. Bundled up against the freezing weather, the 65-year-old was seen in a heated conversation with his co-star Dan Stevens as cameras rolled for their upcoming film together, Oppenheimer Strategies. Richard was wrapped up in a camel overcoat, flat cap, scarf and gloves as he braved the snowy conditions. British actor Dan, 32, was dressed in workout gear, including a warm padded jacket and running pants.

Oppenheimer Strategies is a drama thriller that tells the story of Norman Oppenheimer, a man whose life dramatically changes when a young politician he befriended at a low point in his life becomes an influential world leader. Richard takes the titular role in the independent film, which also stars Michael Sheen, Steve Buscemi and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Before that though, audiences will see him in The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – the sequel to the 2012 hit comedy. Richard stars alongside the likes of Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy. "Working with a cast like that, it took about two seconds to say yes," Richard told the Express.

"I also liked the idea of a film made for a more mature audience, who could laugh at themselves. I laughed out loud at the first movie." Richard – once married to supermodel Cindy Crawford - also spoke about playing a silver fox in the film. "I've never dyed my hair in my life – and I'm not going to start now," the Pretty Woman star stated. "I have had to darken it for a couple of films, such as Unfaithful. It perhaps knocks off five years, no more. But the moment filming is over, I just let it go grey again. "It is the same with facial surgery. Why bother with all that stuff? I am not kept awake worrying about such things at five o'clock in the morning. I try to keep the weight off and stay fit, and leave it at that."
