Hollywood stars including Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Kate Bosworth have all made the move to the small screen for 2017 with leading roles in some seriously binge-worthy shows. From Drew playing a flesh-eating zombie in Santa Clarita Diet to the latest updates on Steven Avery's case in the return of Making a Murderer, these are the shows we can't wait to watch in 2017.

Santa Clarita Diet 

Netflix's new comedy-drama series sees Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant playing Sheila and Joel, a dissatisfied married couple living and working as estate agents in Los Angeles. Their lives take a dark turn when Sheila goes through a huge transformation – becoming a zombie who feeds on human flesh. Available to view now on Netflix.

Big Little Lies

With an A-List cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern, it's no wonder Big Little Lies has been hyped as one of the must-see shows of the year. Reese – who also serves as an executive producer along with her co-star Nicole – told Variety that they treated the show as a seven-hour film, adding: "I say episode six is better than most movies I've been in." The show premieres on HBO on 19 February, and will be coming to the UK just a few weeks later. Airing in March, Sky Atlantic.

SS-GB: Trailer - BBC One

Dystopian drama SS-GB is based on the novel of the same name by Len Deighton, which is set in a United Kingdom conquered and occupied by Germany during the Second World War. Kate Bosworth stars as an American journalist opposite British actor Sam Riley, who plays a detective investigating a murder with potentially political implications. The five-part series has been compared to Amazon's hit The Man in the High Castle. Starts February, BBC One

Steven Avery's case gripped viewers around the world when it first hit Netflix over a year ago. Now the filmmakers Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi have promised we will get updates on both Steven and his nephew Brendan Dassey in Making a Murderer 2 later this year. With the pair both still appealing their convictions from prison, it appears there is still a lot more information emerging surrounding Teresa Halbach's murder. Airing on Netflix later this year.

Another Netflix show that became a runaway success in 2016 is set to return later this year. Sci-Fi drama Stranger Things has made stars of Millie Bobby Brown and her co-stars Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo, and the first teaser trailer for Stranger Things 2 revealed that their story will continue at Halloween. Only eight months to wait! Airing in October on Netflix.
