||Alexander star Rosario Dawson is a proud product of the world's greatest melting pot. The actress, who was born and bred in the Big Apple, is of Puerto Rican, Cuban, African American, Irish and Native American descent. Her unusual genealogy seems to have worked rather well in the looks department as film-maker Larry Clark was immediately captivated when he saw her hanging out on the stoop of her New York home. The critically acclaimed director immediately approached the then 16-year-old and asked if she would like to be in a movie.
Since then Rosario has notched up a series of high-profile appearances in films like Men In Black II, The 25th Hour and the much talked-about Sin City. And even though she's still some years shy of her 30th birthday, the performer has also made the transition to producing with the psychological thriller Descent. Asked how she feels about her diverse heritage, the actress says she's just glad to call the Big Apple her home. "I'm multicultural, and that's how you think of New York," she affirms.
