Six months into their whirlwind courtship the twosome revealed they were expecting a child, and on April 18, 2006, their dream of starting a family came true with the arrival of daughter Suri. According to the couple's statement, the name comes from a Hebrew word meaning "princess" or the Persian for "red rose".
Suri is the Batman Begins actress' first child, while her 43-year-old fiancé already had two adopted youngsters, Isabella, 14, and Conor, 11, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.
Although both Nic and Tom have now moved on, their children remain a priority, and the action star is clearly determined to take the same approach with the latest addition to his brood. "My concern is being the best parent I can be, making sure my kids can think and make decisions for themselves," he says.
