Actress Amanda Seyfried's wavy golden tresses sparkled at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night.Timeless and full of glamour, side-swept curls are simply the ultimate finishing touch for any red carpet look. It's the hairstyle that was adopted for her character, the beautiful Cosette in Les Miserables, and its reappearance at the SAG awards seemed wholly appropriate as the 27-year-old celebrated with co-star Anne Hathaway on her win for  'Best Supporting Actress'.

The key to the stunning look is maintaining the naturally healthy shine that bounces off each curl with expert heat protection. Amanda's blonde locks may be styled countless times for her busy schedule of stylish events but HELLO! Online have spoken to Cloud Nine hair experts Leigh Keates and Angel Montague-Sayers to find out how to keep red carpet hair healthy. To create the Les Miserables' actress' gorgeous soft waves – whilst being kind to your hair by using less heat – simply follow these simple steps:Step One: Take a Waving Wand and select a heat suitable for your hair type. For fine or processed hair, choose low, for medium/normal textures go for the medium setting and use high if you have coarse or thick hair.Step Two: Work through the hair in sections; wind them around the barrel of the Waving Wand and release. If using the Curling Wand, gently pull at the end of each section to release some of the bounce forming a wave rather than a curl. Step Three: Repeat until the whole head is complete, wrapping the sections in alternate directions (towards and away from the face) for a natural, feminine style like Amanda's.

This simple yet stylish fishtail plait worn by Amanda at many a premiere is the perfect style to create from second day waves, giving you a new look without the need for heat. Rework your waves into this gorgeous style:Step One: Tip your head over and shake through the waves you created yesterday to refresh the body. Next, run some hair oil through the ends to give a soft, shiny finish.Step Two: Split the hair into two sections, then take a small piece of hair from one side and cross it over to merge with the other section. Step Three: Repeat alternately through the hair until complete and secure with a band.Step Four: Bring the fishtail over to the side you want it to sit, then gently tease apart the plait, freeing up the hair for a more dishevelled finish.
