Lucy Mecklenburgh appears to have a taken a leaf out of Kendall Jenner's book when choosing her latest hairstyle. The 24-year-old turned heads at an event in London on Wednesday night when she debuted a new choppy full fringe – but some fans have noted that it could be a temporary look.

Lucy Mecklenburgh was spotted with a fringe hairstyle during an event on Wednesday

The former The Only Way is Essex star chose to wear her glossy black tresses up into a striking top knot, with some of the strands left loose on her face – so it could be that her new style is actually a faux fringe effect.

Fans quickly noted that her new hair looked very similar to the style that Kendall Jenner opted to rock for the American Music Awards last year, when she tried out a fringe hairstyle with a top knot look – however, the look was temporary and the Keeping up with the Kardashians star was spotted back to her usual fringe-free locks a few days later.

It wasn't just Lucy's striking new 'do which had the star wowing fans at the launch of Delam's new Notting Hill store. The British beauty showed off her style credentials in a tailored cream sleeveless dress, accessorising with an embellished clutch bag, fluffy stole and a pair of silver metallic heels.

The star caused a stir on social media earlier this week when she hit back at body shamers who had been leaving "cruel" comments on her photos.

"I have had a lot of comments recently that have been quite cruel about me & my body including- 'your body is like a 12 year old boy'...'You look ill' 'Must starve herself' 'Bad role model'," she wrote in a post on Instagram, explaining that "this is body shaming & I'm sick of it".

She later added: "These comments are extremely hurtful...I used to be a curvy size 10 but I was living on pasta, pastries, sugary drinks, 3 sugars in my tea, skipping breakfast, Mc Donald's once-twice a week. I did ZERO exercise. I had no energy, bad skin, covered in cellulite & felt yuk! I needed to change & I chose my health! #resultswithlucy #bodyshaming #health," she wrote alongside the snap on Sunday.
