Trend alert: messed up, dressed up – ponies are back

The pony with bows on top
Then at Dsquared2, Sam did ‘bellissima bows’. He says the inspiration behind the show was intellectual boys and girls with an unfussy attitude, highlighted by dishevelled bowed buns and boyish side partings.

After using Pantene’s Pro-V Smooth & Sleek Mousse, £2.99, to give hair a bit of oomph to hold the style, Sam allowed hair to fall into a natural parting before catching hair into a ponytail, just above the nape and securing it with a band. Then the ends were looped back on themselves and also tied at the nape, halfway up the length of the hair, before the remaining half was also looped back and under the band, tucking and gripping into place. Bits were pulled out and gripped back in to hide the band – with tendrils around the front, too – to prevent the style looking too prim and fussy.
