Health: Do you have a drink problem – with water?
12 MAY 2008
We're exhorted to drink eight glasses of water a day, but two American researchers, Rachel Vreeman and Aaron Carroll, found little evidence to support the benefits of doing so while looking into a list of the most commonly held health beliefs published in the British Medical Journal. Instead they found studies suggesting our average fluid requirements are generally met through drinking juice, milk, tea and coffee. Even weak alcoholic drinks, including beer, count in moderation! (Purely anecdotally, however, we have to note that skin does seem to look better when we drink plenty of water.)
