The Ghostbusters star melted hearts when he proved that you can balance family life and your fitness routine when he shared this adorable snap of himself on the treadmill carrying one of his three children while working out. Chris has previously reminded us why it's important to find a sport you enjoy, explaining why he is such a keen surfer.

"Sitting on our boards out in the ocean beyond where the waves break waiting for the next set, you can forget about everything," he told Men's Health. "It's a great place to talk and have a laugh."

His hectic schedule sees him having to stay in shape, but the actor revealed how he keeps himself motivated – especially when having to work on his muscular physique for Thor.

"It was certainly exhausting at times, but I prefer to be training than not," he told Coach magazine. "It gives me more energy and I just generally feel better about myself. I feel like I’ve earned that beer at the end of the week."

Renowned for his muscular physique, Chris has previously revealed how he gets in shape: "To get back to looking like Thor is simple: I get in the gym and work out," he told Men's Health

He added: "I don't mind it - it keeps me fit and healthy and enjoy that. I've got to eat more calories – certain types of calories and all clean – and it can get boring, eating chicken breast and protein and rice and so on. But at least you're fed properly."

The father-of-three revealed that he turns to Dr. Eric Goodman's book True to Form to help him stay fit and strong, and explained to his fans why good posture is so important.

"Hunching all day at a keyboard, tilting our heads forward over our phones, commuting long hours, slouching on the couch—our sedentary lifestyle has led to an epidemic of chronic pain.

"The consequences are poor postures that throw our bodies out of balance, causing the unnecessary stress and strain that compromise our joints, restrict organ function, and weaken our muscles.

"How we live in our bodies is fundamental to our overall wellness. The good news is that we all hold the key to a healthier body," he wrote as part of a lengthy Instagram post.

The In the Heart of the Sea star regularly reminds fans that a workout routine isn't supposed to be easy, revealing he himself struggles with his exercise regime. "It’s not so much the staying in shape. Once you get to the shape, maintaining it -- it’s work, but it’s less work than trying to get it off to do another role, or to put it back on when you start from scratch. That’s been tough," he told Buzzfeed.

After filming The Avengers, Chris had to quickly shed weight to star in Rush, and revealed how he achieved his goals. "I ate very little protein and carbohydrates, lots of vegetables. And then I'd just run to sweat it off," he told Body Building.
