There are easy ways to help lift your spirits this autumn

1. Ditch processed foods

Enjoy an organic wholefood diet high in vegetables, meats, fish, and healthy fats to help sustain you for longer and prevent the energy dips and cravings for sugary treats or refined carbohydrates. Eating good quality protein such as turkey is said to keep the liver nice and healthy too!

2. Switch up your diet

Eat a wide variety of wholefoods and seasonal vegetables in warming soups and stews to help warm and nourish the body with a range of nutrients for optimal function during the winter months.

3. Get at least seven to eight hours of uninterrupted sleep a night

Turn off electrical products at least an hour before, perhaps reading a book, doing a meditation, or taking a bath could all put you in a relaxing state to enjoy a restorative night's sleep and help you to wake feeling full of energy!

4. Eat a balanced diet

Eat plenty of oily fish, grass fed meats, avocados, nuts and seeds could help keep up omega 3 levels and support the brains production of 'happy hormone' neurotransmitters.

5. Get outside and exercise

This helps to boost serotonin, so what better excuse to enjoy a walk in a local park or pottering in the garden at the weekend.

6. Think of your gut

Choose fermented foods such as sauerkraut, yoghurt or kefir and take a daily multi-strain probiotic such as Bio-Kult Advanced Multi-strain formula to help keep your gut tip top and support your production of your happy hormone 'serotonin'. Supporting the gut, improving digestive function, absorption of nutrients and removal of waste could help you feel lighter and more energised too.
