Celeb make-up artist Cassie Lomas has been working lots with Lady GaGa lately to make sure she looks picture-perfect on photographic shoots, as well as regularly making up soap stars including Charlie Lomas and Jenna Louise Coleman so they look the part when they're snapped on the red carpet. We asked Cassie for her favourite tips to ensure complexions look glowing when caught in the glare of a flashlight.

Bronzer can create a 'sculpted' face – brush lightly down the sides of the nose, into the hollows of the cheeks and under the chin.

Then apply highlighter to catch the light from a flash that creates a glowing skin – on the cheekbones, browbone, collarbone, tips of shoulders and in the cupids bow of the mouth, too.

Finish with a blush that contains iridescent particles to draw light to the cheeks where skin is smoothest. It doesn't matter whether it's cream or powder; just smile and apply to the apples of the cheeks for colour and to catch the light – remember you've already helped define cheekbones with the bronzer.

Cassie says to use a glossy lip colour - instead of a matte finish - for its light-reflecting properties and to go for eyeshadows that contain iridescent sparkle, too, to ensure you shine like a star.
