Celeb make-up artist shares her tips

It was a night of glitz and glamour at the Soap Awards so we asked celebrity make-up artist Cassie Lomas to share with us her favourite trick for transforming the stars…

“I loved the way Claire Cooper, who plays Jackie in Hollyoaks, looked. She wanted to go for a Sixties-inspired look to compliment her nude coloured dress. The simplest technique which gives an instant retro look is dramatic black flicks across the eyelids.

"To do it yourself at home, steady your elbow on a table and start by drawing the outer point and working into the centre, then go from the inner corner out to meet the first line.

"Do this for the bottom line closest to the lash first then the highest point you want it to go and fill in the middle bit. My favourite liquid liner is Bourjois Liner Clubbing in Ultra Black, £5.86.

“I finished with nude and gold tones over the rest of the face to keep it subtle. The key to foolproof eyeshadow is to use only one colour, which minimises the blending.”
