Bring summer colours to your eyes with a selection of electric brights

Urban Decay have just added a new teal-green hue to their range of liquid liners, named Minx 

It’s a stop-start summer so far, with blasts of fierce sunshine interspersed with concrete-grey skies that are enough to dampen the brightest of outlooks.

But there is a mini-trend emerging from some of the cosmetic companies that will bring a touch of almost tropical colour to the face with the minimum of effort. All you need to do is add a slash of bright metallic across the lids – try it just on the lower lids if you’re really feeling like ringing the changes.

The most wearable of the shades come from Bourjois with its new Contour Clubbing Waterproof liner, £4.20, in Bleu Neon, a vibrant bluey-purple and Blue Remix, a gorgeous, ultra-metallic azure shade.

Urban Decay has added two similar shades to its best-selling Liquid Liner, £12 – Ecstasy, a bold, bright purple and Minx, a gorgeous teal-green. Use only the tip of the brush to create smooth, precise lines: for more coverage, lay the brush flat as you draw it across the lid or use it to paint the entire lid.

If you don’t feel quite so adventurous, try Revlon Matte Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner, £5.86, in Very Violet or Navy. Revlon and Bourjois are available nationwide; Urban Decay is available from selected Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser or hqhair.com, asos.com and beautyexpert.com.
