Lady Gaga flaunts natural look and blonde hair extensions

22 AUGUST 2013 Lady Gaga is famed for her outrageous clothing and styling, but the Applause singer opted for a more natural look when she stepped out in New York to promote her latest tune.

The pop sensation was spotted leaving a recording studio and donned a chic summery ensemble — a far cry from some of the more bizarre outfits she's worn in the past.

Lady Gaga looked fresh-faced wearing minimal make-up, and showed off an impressive head of curls with her new strawberry blonde hair extensions.

The 27-year-old wore a white circle-patterned crop top with matching high-waisted billowing flares that showed off her midriff.

She was greeted by a mass of fans outside the studio, who she affectionately calls her "little monsters", and happily posed with them, even donning a transparent mask that was presented to her.

The songstress contrasted her look earlier that day with an all-black ensemble that showed off her slender figure. She added a touch of eccentricity to her outfit with thigh-high suede boots and colourful, pixelated sunglasses.

Lady Gaga called on her "little monsters" for their help just last week when her latest single was leaked online.

The singer was planning to officially release the single on August 19, but decided to push its availability forward in light of the circumstances.

"A POP MUSIC EMERGENCY IS UNDERWAY 911" tweeted the star, followed by an array of posts in eye-catching capital letters.

"MY NEW SINGLE 'APPLAUSE' IS OUT TODAY AND CAN BE HEARD ON UNITED STATES RADIO IN 15 MINUTES. INTERNATIONAL RADIO TO FOLLOW," she tweeted.

Nearly 2,500 fans went on cyber duty, retweeting a link to her music label Universal's takedown page.

Lady Gaga was clearly delighted by her "monsters", tweeting her almost-40 million followers to praise them: "I LOVE BEING A POPSTAR! WE ARE CHEERING FOR YOU MONSTERS, STANDING OVATION FOR THE WORLDS MOST AMAZING FANS!"
