Ellie Goulding turned to Doctor Woo to create this intricate tattoo

Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Doctor Woo, who created the eye-catching body art, shared a photo on Instagram of Ellie's new tattoo, revealing that the On My Mind hitmaker had given him the "inspiration" for the striking design.

"Fun one for the wonderful @elliegoulding based off art inspiration she brought in," he captioned a black-and-white snap of the inking, which is placed on the singer's rib cage. The impressive tattoo forms a web-like pattern, with smaller, intricate patterns across the lines.

This isn't the star's first body art. She already has a series of etchings including a skull and cross bones on her middle finger, a white arrow on her index finger and a red triangle on her wrist.

Ellie admitted she's been feeling more confident

"I've definitely been through phases of trying things to make my face look different," the singer told Stylist. "But now I’m older I’ve grown this confidence that I never had before. Rather than change my features, I now wear make-up to enhance them – which is why I guess I’m drawn to natural shades like the ones in my Mac Halcyon Nights palette for eyes and cheeks."
