Good news royalty fans: you can now style your eyelids in homage to her Majesty the Queen, and we're not joking. That's right, crown eyeshadow is the next big thing to hit the beauty world and we have to admit, it's pretty fun. This will be just the look to celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding day in May. Instagram is bursting with tutorials and gorgeous shots of this quirky makeup trend, with top beauty influencer Huda Kattan featuring a how-to video on her popular page. The crown eyeshadow looks really precise so it's a good idea to watch a tutorial before you attempt it.

In Huda's clip, she first applies pink eyeshadow to her lids then draws on the outline of a crown in gold liner with a small brush. She then adds bronze eyeshadow and pink glitter, before sticking on tiny diamante gemstones and completing the look with fake lashes. You might want to fashion yourself a crown stencil out of card if you don't have a steady hand for the crown outline.

The cool thing about the crown trend is you can keep it simple with just eyeshadow or you can go all out and get creative. Photos on Instagram show all kinds of makeup crowns, featuring bright metallic colours, smoky eyes and a fabulous array of stick-on accessories. A popular choice is adding a sparkly gem to each point of the crown. Have fun experimenting with this cute regal look ladies…
