The Gillette Fusion Power Stealth razor came out top in a recent report to find which tools give men the closest shave

25 MARCH 2009

It's the role of the handsome Hollywood hero, from Cary Grant to Hugh Jackman, to have a chiselled jaw – and one that's clean-shaven, too.

And a new Which? report highlights the tools most likely to give men the closest shave, with the Gillette Fusion Power Stealth, £9.99, coming out top.

"You get a very close shave with the five front blades and the single blade on the back trims a beard very well," says the report.

The best value razor is the Gillette Blue II, £2.92 for 10 razors. King Of Shaves Azor, £4.88, also rated well, with Which? stating that it "may look like a tuning fork, but it gives a close and comfortable result… reaching the nooks and crannies of your face".

Sainsbury's Basic Razor didn't fare so well, with one tester saying: "I had too many cuts. I had to give up using it because I looked so bad in business meetings."

The Wilkinson Sword Extra 2 Precision garnered a rather back-handed compliment from another user: "I dropped the razor and it cut my leg! That shows that it is very sharp – good stuff."

The Which? report is out this April; visit www.which.co.uk for details of how to subscribe.
