Tess Management, who manage the model, also sent their congratulations to which Erin replied: "Thank you @TESSManagement Mum, Dad & little Albert are doing just great! xox"

The top model only revealed the pregnancy in February when she showed off her baby bump on the red carpet.

"Nobody knew. This is my first outing. It was a well kept secret," she said. Thank God for all those winter coats. I just thought I'd come out with a bang."

A few days later, responding to a message of congratulations on Twitter, Erin told a follower: "My partner of many years & father of the baby is the lovely Steve Gibson."

The couple live together in New York's West Village. She had previously talked about Steve, a 6ft 3in Anglo-Irishman, in a magazine interview without naming him.

"He's funny and interesting and wears a suit every day to work, which seems so exotic and outlandish to me that ironically it makes him my equivalent of wild rock'n'roll," she said.

"He's also easy to love and I hope we'll have a baby – lots of them, if we're lucky – together. It's a nice feeling to have found The One at long last.

"We have half a dozen godchildren between us, so I like to think we have some idea of what's required for parenthood."
