Christina Aguilera's son keeps a protective hand over mum's growing baby bump

15 JULY 2014

Christina Aguilera's son Max is going to be a great big brother - if the picture she shared of the little boy on Tuesday is anything to go by.

The pop star tweeted a sweet snap of her son Max keeping a protective hand on her bump to her millions of fans with the caption: "Max already protecting mommy & his little sister! He’s the greatest

Max is Christina's son with her ex-husband Jordan Bratman, to whom she was married from November 2005 to October 2010.

Christina had remained quiet on her pregnancy but publicly confirmed it during a show in Malaysia in March where she also confirmed she was expecting a daughter.

The 33-year-old is engaged to Matthew Rutler, a film producer, who proposed back in February.

In the last few months the Genie In A Bottle singer has been out and about in New York City, and has kept her fans up-to-date with her progress.

Christina and Matt announced their engagement on Valentine's Day via Twitter. "He asked and I said….," she wrote alongside a sweet photo of her diamond-adorned hand holding film producer Matt's in front of a romantic beach setting.

Reportedly Matt spent over a year preparing his heart-warming proposal, putting a lot of thought into the design of the elaborate ring. He had had it ready for months but was waiting for the right time to propose.

The pair have been together almost three years. They first met on the set of her 2010 film Burlesque.

The happy couple have been living together in the Grammy-winning vocalist's new Mulholland Estates mansion in LA, which she bought in April 2013 for $10million.
